The current COVID situation isn’t looking good, forcing the cancellation of the upcoming AGM and monthly meetings. Henry VK2ZHE writes:
ORARC Members,
Notice is hereby given that the due to the COVID-19 situation the Annual General Meeting of the Oxley Region Amateur Radio Club Inc. has been postponed and will now be held at 2pm on Saturday the 4th of September 2021 in the SES Building, Central Road, Port Macquarie.
The 7 August 2021 ORARC Monthly General Meeting is cancelled. The minutes of the August Committee Meeting will be emailed to members after it has been held. The September Monthly General Meeting will be held on the 4th of September 2021 after the conclusion of the Postponed AGM.
The July 2021 issue of Oxtales is still in preparation but will be published as soon as possible. It will be a very full issue with all the Field Day results, and sadly two Silent Keys.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation the ORARC Friday Night Get together which was scheduled for Friday, the 27th of August 2021 has been cancelled.
Your Committee is continuing to actively monitor the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

There’s a bit of a delay with this issue of Oxtales, Editor John VK2AYQ explains:
Hello fellow members,
The July edition of Oxtales will be delayed this month due to several factors.
Your editor is recovering from a home accident that has resulted in a broken bone and damaged finger. In addition there are two silent key obituaries to be included; with one of the funerals being held Friday (9th July).
In the circumstances it was thought expedient to delay production for an additional week.

The rollercoaster of COVID-19 continues – due to the current Delta outbreak tomorrow’s monthly meeting is cancelled. Henry VK2ZHE writes:
The ORARC Monthly General Meeting scheduled for 2pm on Saturday the 3rd of July 2021 in the SES Building in Port Macquarie has been cancelled due to the current COVID-19 infection situation. The inconvenience is sincerely regretted but we must put the health and well-being of ORARC members and visitors first. The club has a COVID-19 safety plan and ORARC must be fully compliant with NSW Health directives as well as with Port Macquarie Hastings Council and NSW SES requirements.
The ORARC Committee will still meet and the minutes of July Committee Meeting will be emailed to members.
The Oxley Region Amateur Radio Club annual Field Day will be held at the Wauchope Showground hall with all the usual field day activities on Saturday and Sunday the 12th and 13th of June 2021 during the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend. The Field Day dinner will be held at the Port Macquarie Golf Club on the Saturday night. Mark your calendar now. The Wauchope Showground permits camping so it is possible to stay on site in your own motor home, caravan or tent with power and amenities.
