Club Bucket Hats

You too could look just as elegant in your own Oxley Region Amateur Radio Club bucket hat.
Dennis VK2DAM exhibiting 3dB gain AND looking debonair in his ORARC hat.  These hats are truly AMAZING!

Do you like gain?  Reports of ORARC bucket hat wearers exhibiting 3dB gain have been received, and whilst technically dubious you really don’t have much to lose ($15) to find out for yourself… 🙂

Yellow bucket hats embroidered with the club logo are available for sale to members at the very reasonable price of, you guessed it, $15 each.

The hats come in two sizes suitable for adults.  One is S/M (56cm) and the other is L/XL (59cm).  The measurement is the circumference of the wearer’s head that the hat is designed to fit.

To order a hat please email the club secretary Henry VK2ZHE and advise your hat size.  The hats are supplied and embroidered to order.  Please allow 4 weeks for delivery.

  1. I think the bucket hats look so stupid. You will never catch me wearing one unless it is to win a bet.

    • LOL, tell us how you really feel Richard! 🙂 The real issue may that you and I are fashionistas! I’m personally more of a baseball cap guy myself, but I acknowledge the better sun protection of the bucket hat over the baseball cap (though it still falls way short of other wider brimmed hat styles). Anyways, each to their own! 😀

      • That fellas, is the benefit of age, as you get older you couldn’t give a stuff what others think. But, I’ll have the last laugh when those who prefer baseball hats have cancer cut out of their ears. 🙂

  2. Ha Ha Stuart,
I am older than you anyway. And having been brought up in Egypt, if I were going to be affected by the sun I think it would have happened by now.
My solution to the problem is to stay in bed during dangerous sunlight hours and stay up most of the night.
